How to Submit

1. For the initial submission of papers contributed to Genes & Genetic Systems, Visit http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/ggs/initialsubmission/-char/en and press “Submit Initial Manuscript”.
2. [Screen 1/6] Input required information and then press “Next”.
3. [Screen 2/6] If input information is imperfect, the relevant item is indicated in thick red letters.? Just click on the area to go to the item for correction. Do not use the “Back”; if you press “Back”, all information input is erased. Note that only a PDF file can be uploaded and that the file name should be written in single-space characters without space. It may take some time for a file to be uploaded. When uploaded successfully, the file name is shown with blue characters on the left. After uploading PDF files of manuscript and cover letter, press “Next”.
4. [Screen 3/6] If you have reviewers desired, input their information.When you desire two or more (up to five) reviewers, press “More”. After inputting all information (when you have no reviewers desired, inputting nothing), press “Next”.
5. [Screen 4/6] [Screen 5/6] If you need any corrections, press “Back” to move back to previous pages and make corrections. Confirming the input information, press “Next”.
6. Reconfirming the input information, and press “Submit”.
7. [Screen 6/6] You will receive “Submission Number” and URL (http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/ggs/main/-char/en) to monitor the reviewing progress of your submitted paper. Close the browser (“Logoff” button is not available).
8. You receive an e-mail from the GGS office (ggsiden@kais.kyoto-u.ac.jp) notifying “Manuscript Number” and the URL (http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/ggs/main/-char/en) to monitor the reviewing progress of your submitted paper at any time, using your password and “Manuscript Number”.
9. When you receive an e-mail on the review result, login the URL (http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/ggs/main/-char/en) using your password and “Manuscript Number”, and see the review result at “Editor’s Comment”.

10. To submit a revised manuscript, login the URL (http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/ggs/main/-char/en) using your password and “Manuscript Number”, press “Submit Revised Manuscript”, and submit the revised manuscript as you did for the first time.
11. When you receive an e-mail on the review result of the revised manuscript, login the URL (http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/ggs/main/-char/en) using your password and “Manuscript Number”, and see the review result at “Editor’s Comment”.
12. When you receive an e-mail on the acceptance of your paper, login the URL (http://ess.jstage.jst.go.jp/contrib/ggs/main/-char/en) using your password and “Manuscript Number”, press “Submit Final Manual”, and send the final manuscript following the instructions shown on the screen.
